Clara Kong

Clara Kong joined New York Life in November 2010 as a Partner in the Westchester General Office after a distinguished 21 year career with MetLife. Throughout her MetLife career as both an agent and Managing Director, Clara was a consistent member of The Million Dollar Round Table *(MDRT) and a perennial qualifier to company leadership conferences. Once at New York Life, Clara quickly rose in the ranks and was promoted to Senior Partner in September 2013. After being among the top Senior Partners in 2013 and 2014 in the nation, Clara received an appointment to the prestigious New York Life Managing Partner Advisory Council (MPAC). Prior to her promotion as Managing Partner of the Valley Forge General Office, Clara developed and promoted 6 agents to different leadership roles within New York Life and was the recipient of numerous leadership awards. 

Clara spent six years with IBM after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Pace University. She is married to Jeremiah with three grown sons.

Connor Scott joined New York Life in 2013.  Despite not having a background in Finance, he embraced the New York Life system and immediately excelled.  Driven by his desire to positively impact his community, Connor made Executive Council in 2014 and 2015, and based on merit alone was selected for promotion in 2015.

Connor is a proud graduate of Temple University.  Prior to New York Life, he worked in international recycling and the hospitality industry.  Connor lives in West Chester with his lovely wife and three young children, where he enjoys reading and training for his next challenge.          


 

 

Omari Thomas

Omari Thomas has over 18 years of experience in finance specifically in global trade finance and acquiring assets under management. Prior to joining New York Life's Valley Forge General Office in December 2010, Omari spent eight years working for a major wire house where he specialized in asset protection and investment strategies to high net worth families, institutions, and non-profits.  Subsequent to that, he co-founded a private equity company that had an operating focus on the Pan-African market sectors and was Senior Partner for ten years.

Since joining New York Life, Omari has continued to thrive in all aspects of his career with the company. As an agent, he is a three-time Executive Council qualifier for 2014, 2013, and 2012. He was named 2012 Annuity Champion and received the 2013 Life All Star for writing 50 paid Life cases within a calendar year.

Omari is a 1999 graduate of Rowan University and holds a degree in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing. He enjoys supporting non-profits that focus on education and entrepreneurship, competition, and achieving new highs. He has been featured in various newspapers, magazines and on radio shows.

He currently resides in South Jersey with his wife and daughter.


 

 

 

Richard "RJ" Whitelock

Richard “RJ” Whitelock joined New York Life in 2012 as an agent.  RJ was recognized as a 2015 Executive Council Agent.  Prior to joining New York Life, he spent over nine years in a variety of sales roles with local and national companies.

RJ's primary focus as an agent and Registered Representative was working with local businesses and pre-retirees.  He enjoyed the complexity of working with business owners to help them protect their business and families.  On the retirement planning portion of his business, he enjoyed helping people understand their current holdings and providing a variety of options to help them maximize their accounts while planning for their specific goals..

RJ is a proud graduate of Penn State University and is currently training for his second marathon.  Originally from outside of Pittsburgh, he currently resides in Whitehall, PaAnchor with his wife Rebecca.

 


 

 

 

 

Katrina M Sokolosky, MBA

Katrina came to New York Life after working as an agent's assistant for 1 year.  She officially began her New York Life career in 2007 in the Greater Philadelphia General Office.  She rapidly became a valuable member of the New Business Staff and transitioned has transitioned to Office Manager at the Valley Forge General Office.   Katrina has a degree in Finance from Penn State University and earned her MBA in Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in 2011.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her 2 teenage daughters, Kaley & Isabella, who keep her very busy.  She is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying camping, hiking, skiing, and gardening.  Katrina also volunteers as a streamkeeper, assisting in the monitoring of a local creek to help report conditions of the water for the Delaware Watershed Conservation Program.

Denise Meehan is an experienced professional who has spent the last 4 years specializing in regulatory compliance. Prior to joining New York Life Denise was a Supervision Principal with Merrill Lynch’s Central Business Review Unit. While there she was responsible for a variety of supervision, compliance, and risk management functions. 
 
Denise has demonstrated proven results for global clients improving key control areas, including risk, identification and assessment, monitoring and supervision, testing and analytics through primarily advisory as well internal audit engagements. Denise currently holds her FINRA series 6,7,9,10,24,52,53,63,66 licenses.
